Reminder: UWOSA PDQ Survey

Dear UWOSA members,

The feedback we have received from UWOSA members regarding the status of PDQ evaluations has been overwhelmingly negative. Many of you have reported being deeply frustrated with the indifference managers have displayed over PDQ updates, as well as the lack of communication and action on the part of Human Resources after receiving your PDQ.

As an individual member, you can have a significant influence in advancing this process for all of us by simply sending the UWOSA office your signed PDQ and, discussing the importance of this action with other members.

As a reminder, please complete the survey and send us your signed PDQ. I’ve copied my email and link to the survey from my original message of earlier this month.

Thank you,

UWOSA PDQ Survey

Effective January 1, 2014, a new comprehensive PDQ (Position Description Questionnaire, or job description form) was rolled out for all UWOSA members. Many of us have since expressed our frustration with the lack of response after submitting our PDQs to our supervisors.

Acting on these growing concerns, the UWOSA Executive is soliciting your help in determining the extent of the PDQ evaluation delays. Please complete this very short survey and send us your (preferably, signed) PDQ. The importance of your participation cannot be overemphasized.

The survey can be found at the following link:

Thank you for your assistance and continued support.

UWOSA Executive Vacancy - Membership Services Officer

Dear UWOSA Members,

Meg Perinpanayagam has been appointed as Vice President, and therefore is stepping down from the role of UWOSA's Membership Services Officer.

We thank Meg for her contributions as Membership Services Officer over the past few years -- the annual Luncheons, BBQs, Take-a-Break trips, charity drives and discount programs.

This leaves us with a vacancy on our Executive Committee. A new Membership Services Officer will be appointed for the electoral term ending April 30, 2016 at the June 17, 2015 meeting of the Stewards Council.

This is a position open to all members of UWOSA in good standing. If you would like to apply for the role, please email a brief bio (maximum 200 words) to mary.hay@uwosa.ca by June 10th to be submitted to Stewards Council.

Applicants will be expected to attend the Stewards Council meeting on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 12:00 pm (location TBD) to provide a brief (5 minute) presentation to Council. After all presentations, a vote will be held to determine the new Membership Services Officer.

If you have any questions regarding the role, or the appointment process, please call ext 85089 or email mary.hay@uwosa.ca.
