UWOSA Supports the United Way Campaign

The annual United Way campaign is well underway and needs our support. This is a particularly difficult time for many in our community who have been affected by the economic downturn. At a time of uncertainty, one thing remains constant – the support of Western’s staff.

United Way has a formal and long-standing partnership with the labour community which has evolved and grown for more than 50 years; part of the reason for this is a shared vision about the importance of strong, healthy and prosperous communities offering a wide range of accessible, universal, and high quality social and public services.

Labour is critical to the success of United Way and to the health and strength of our entire community. Your continued support is essential in ensuring that our members, friends, and neighbours have access to the vital programs and services United Way funds.

When you contribute to the United Way, you help to support those in need through agencies in our community. United Way is about strengthening our community by mobilizing its resources to achieve positive and lasting change.

We encourage you to support this year’s campaign by returning your pledge forms and by participating in some of the events which will be held on campus to raise funds. The contribution made by Western employees is an important part of the larger United Way goal.
