On November the 7th, a couple of us went to the London Coffee House to help the staff and to visit with the clients who use this service. Steve Patterson and I had some rousing games of 31, dice and 13 - which were taught to us by the clients and staff. I learned that Steve is quite the risk-taker when it comes to dice, and I also learned that playing 13 requires a calculator and a rule book.
We have been treated with such warmth and acceptance that it encourages us to continue to come back and visit again. As this wasn’t our first visit, I had expected to play some card games but I did not expect to lose three different games in such quick succession! I look forward to going back, but before I go I will definitely Google card games and make some cheat-sheets.
On December the 19th, we will be going to the London and Area Food Bank to sort food and create food hampers. This will be our third time lending a hand at the food bank and I am hopeful that this time I will be able to create a food hamper.. I’m not above bribery. Please consider joining us - though I get first dibs at the food hampers!
